What the press and others are saying about ‘Setting the Record Straight‘ …

Extract from Parliament of NSW Legislative Assembly Hansard – 2017.06.21

Gladys Berejiklian holding Carl Scully's book in ParliamentMs GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN: How many times did we hear members opposite talk about the M4 extension and the M5 when they were in government? They never delivered anything. The former Shadow Treasurer has had his glory days. He said that it was great to be at the launch of his mate Carl Scully’s political memoir and that it was a must-read. I hope he has read page 458.

The SPEAKER: Order! The member for Keira will not respond in that fashion. This is not a debate. I call the member for Keira to order for the third time.

Ms GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN: Former Minister Scully said that “no motorways were planned or delivered during the whole six years of the Iemma/Rees/Keneally period. There was always the complete mockery of the excuse provided to me…”. He went on to talk about the Labor Government’s failure to deliver the M4 and the M5. He also talked about removing the M4 toll, and said that the revenue should have been reinvested in Western Sydney roads.
